Dear Friends,

Please find attached a comprehensive analysis of the Dallas Crown horse slaughter plant Federal Income Tax Return's from 2000-2004, along with a memo from John Rainey (a wonderful horseman, equine advocate, and attorney) whose firm has drafted this analysis.

Please take a few minutes to download the attachment, print it out, and send it along to your Congressmen and Senators.

Please be sure to mention in your cover letter that as John states below (see his email to me following my signature) "not only are these people assaulting a part of our core values which define us as a nation through this shameful and sordid business, but they also are apparently mounting an ongoing assault on our nation's treasury".

During the month of August, please be sure to direct all correspondence to your Congressman to their district office(s), as well as to their office in Washington, DC.

PLEASE SHARE THE ATTATCHED DOCUMENT WITH  FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND FELLOW HORSEMAN, AND ASK THEM TO DO THE SAME!!!

Thank you all for your continued support of the horses!!

Kind Regards,

Dear Gail,

I believe you and your constituency will find the attached memorandum and spreadsheet detailing the lack of profitability of the Dallas Crown, Inc. horse slaughter house in Kaufman, Texas of compelling interest.

You will note that over the period 2000 through 2004, based upon my analysis of its federal income tax returns, Dallas Crown made a dismal return on its gross sales of butchered horses and paid into the U. S. Treasury pitifully little in federal corporate income tax. You also will note that in years prior to 2000 operating losses were experienced in some, if not all, of the years since its incorporation, as a Net Operating Loss Deduction was carried forward from one or more of these years, which took two (2) years to use ( 2000 and 2002).

Not only are these people assaulting a part of our core values which define us as a nation through this shameful and sordid business, but they also are apparently mounting an ongoing assault on our nation's treasury.

Our Senators and Congressmen will be enjoying an August recess and will be back in their respective states and districts " listening " to the concerns of their constituents. I would hope that your constituency and their friends would raise their voices loudly and persuasively in urging them to support and vote for passage in 2006 of the Horse Slaughter Prevention Act, demanding that our values and our treasury be protected.

 Sincerely,

  John
